Business English @ Financial Times Deutschland (FTD)

January 23, 2008

The Financial Times Deutschland offers a podcast business English. You can listen to them (does not work in HL network; mp3 files are forbidden) or read the text. In both cases there are explanations for new words.

Maybe the article “Brazilian entrepreneurs make tidy sums in the US” is of interest for you.

Steve Jobs mentioned rottentomatoes

January 20, 2008

Steve Jobs, the Apple CEO, mentioned rottentomatoes as the “best review site out” in the Macworld 2008 Keynote Address. Speaking about movie rentals on the Apple TV he highlighted the relatively unknown but good movie “Away from her” having 95% on the tomatometer. Start watching at minute 25.00. Away from her is mentioned at 25.30 min.

By the way, the Apple Keynote Address is a good example how to present to the point. I like the reduced but very focussed style.

And rottentomatoes gots a new design. I think this is a great improvement. It’s better structured now using 2 columns.
